Various Ways to Straighten Hair

For those of you who are interested and plan to straighten your hair, here are some ways you can take:
  • Flat iron or hair curling

  • Straightening your hair with curling is arguably the easiest way, because this technique can be done at home and by anyone. You only need a hair dryer and a hair dryer that is powered by a conductor of heat to get straight hair. However, it's good to avoid clamping your hair too often, especially at high temperatures. Because, these actions can cause hair to become dry and brittle. Instead, use hair curling only 1-2 times a week, with low temperatures. To reduce the risk of having hair damaged due to plotting, make sure the hair is dry. It is recommended that you wash your hair at night, then stick your hair dry in the morning. Avoid hair clamp in the condition of wet hair, also leave it too long to rest on one part of the hair. Hair straightening technique in this way does not last long, because it does not use chemicals, hair will return to its original form if exposed to water.
  • Keratin

  • Don't want to bother straightening your hair every day with curling iron? Try applying keratin (the natural protein of hair) to the hair. Then, hair is dyed to "seal" keratin. Straightening hair with this technique takes about 90 minutes or more, depending on the length of the hair. It should be noted, do not shampoo for 3-4 days after straightening hair with keratin. After that, then you can shampoo using sodium-sulfate free shampoo to keep hair straight. However, pay attention to the keratin products used. Ask or read the label on the safety, and see if there are ingredients that are risky for health, for example formalin. Straightening your hair this way can indeed cut your time in tidying hair when going to travel. The obtained straight effect also lasts quite a long time, which can reach 2 to 2.5 months. Hair will not come back curly when exposed to light rain.
  • Chemical relaxers

  • Similar to keratin, hair relaxers can also be used to straighten hair. The effectiveness of relaxers in straightening hair is somewhat better because it can last longer when compared with keratin, and can even stay permanently straight if treated properly. But unfortunately, behind these advantages, hair relaxer products generally contain "alkaline caustic", a substance that can cause scalp irritation or burning due to chemicals. In hair, this substance can also make hair dry and brittle. For this reason, it is recommended not to use a relaxer for more than 8 weeks, and always apply as much moisturizer to the hair so that hair health can be maintained better.
Before you straighten your hair, first consider the good and bad effects. Especially if you use chemicals that can harm your health. If necessary, consult your dermatologist first about the safety of the method or product you are going to use.
